Nukeboy's Interests

Nukeboy has a wide variety of interests.  Among his passions are an enjoyment of great cigars, fine spirits and wine, beer, firearms and firearm competitions.  Often, when he is not working horrendous hours, Nukeboy can be found at at least two of his favorite spots; the Sanctuary Tobacco Shop and Spike's, both in San Luis Obispo.

San Luis was the first town in California to completely ban smoking from all public buildings, including restaurants and bars.  The only exception is the town's only tobacco shop, and that is why the Sanctuary is so named.  If you are ever in town and like cigars, drop in and see Doug.

Nukeboy also has a great fondness for beer.  He worked tirelessly for years helping to promote California's then fledgling microbrewery industry as the Coordinator for the California Festival of Beers.  With a rotating stock of at least 40 beers (nearly half on tap!), Spike's is definitely the place to go.  The Central Coast area also sports the finest wineries in California, possibly even the world.  One of the best is Tobin James in Paso Robles; a must stop if on a tour of the area's dozens of wineries.   Single Malt Scotches are also favorites of Nukeboy, after all, what is Scotch but distilled beer?

Nukeboy is not entirely self-indulgent, he does find certain cultures fascinating, including those of the Navajo and Hopi (which is odd since he is part Cherokee).
