Lanfair Valley
This is beautiful Lanfair Valley with the New York Mountains in the background.

We recently had our first visit to the Mojave National Preserve and immediately began planning a return trip, almost certainly to drive the Mojave Road from Bastow to the Colorado River through the preserve.

Almost all my colleagues at work responded to the story about "The World's Loneliest Phone Booth" much more than the main story I wrote about the park, although the latter was the one I slaved over.

I've also included articles I wrote about the Providence Mountains State Recreation Area in the middle of the preserve and general information about camping in the nation's third largest park.
